Weeds in the lawn are not visually attractive and also destroy the lawn area in the long run. With these two tips, remove the weeds permanently.

Weed in the lawn is the horror of every lover of lush green, even lawns. The herb has good growing conditions because it is stronger than the delicate blades of grass. Your lawn needs appropriate care so that it can thrive splendidly. Weeds deprive him of this power and are also not a particularly beautiful sight. Most hobby gardeners therefore aim to control weeds in the lawn.

What is weed?

Here the spirits differ, because what one perceives as beautiful disturbs the other tremendously. However, if you look at the whole thing organically, weeds are those plants that have not been specifically cultivated, but have spread themselves via seeds, the air or the roots themselves. The weed list is really long and I don't know of a garden that is not affected. In the following table, you will find an overview that relates specifically to the lawn.

Causes of weeds in the lawn

Killing weeds in the lawn is one thing, preventing new weed formation is another. In principle, lawn needs much more nutrients to grow than weeds. So if you want a rich green carpet, you have to take action. Another cause of moss, clover or field winds in the lawn is too dry a soil. If the lawn does not get enough water, it shrinks, there are dry, bald places where weeds can spread.

Tip 1 against weeds in the lawn

Mow and scarify properly

As a first measure against weeds, the lawn must be cut very short. After mowing and removing the clippings, apply very fine and dry sand. Then the lawn is scarified thoroughly. This allows the sand to penetrate deep into the soil and at the same time remove any moss.

After this complex procedure, the lawn has to be supplied with a special fertilizer. When all of this treatment has been completed, mow the lawn not less than five centimeters, You no longer need to mow as often. The lawn grasses are given the opportunity to stand up to the weeds.

When to remove moss from the lawn?
Spring is the best time to remove moss and other weeds from the lawn and replace them if necessary.

Tip 2 against weeds in the lawn

Cut out weeds and sow the lawn seeds

If daisies, dandelions or different types of plantain interfere with the overall appearance of the lawn, the leaf rosettes should be carefully cut out whenever they appear on the surface of the earth. The bare patches that arise here must then be replenished with new grass seed until weed growth is reduced and ultimately does not occur.

Update: miracle cure for weeds found
I have now found a weed remedy that receives the “Product of the Year” award from me: the weed killer including lawn fertilizer from the company WOLF-Garten. After only a week, our weeds (dandelions, clovers, etc.) have decreased massively, while the lawn is stronger than ever. I bought it here free of charge via Amazon ...
